This report presents the findings of a CRKC citizen science project carried out to assess the health of the River Kent. The study was conducted within the FreshWater Watch (FWW) framework (www.freshwaterwatch.org).
Following a pilot study, water samples were collected between 1 September 2023 and 31 August 2024 from 19 locations, including the Gowan, Mint, Sprint, Lambrigg (Flodder) Beck, and Underbarrow Pool.
This intensive 12-month citizen science study brought together a team of 46 volunteers who analysed a total of 246 river water samples along the river Kent and its tributaries.
