In 2025 Sustainable Staveley (SENS) is looking for new committee members to take forward fresh ideas and initiatives in our community that will help protect our local environment for both people and nature – encouraging adaption and resilience.
SENS is a well-established group with a track record of fund-raising for local projects ranging from practical gardening/composting/nature based activities with the local school and youth group; to bringing in expert advice / reports on energy conservation for residents, organising village litter picks, hosting talks, sponsoring local film makers, enabling the Clean River Kent Campaign and the community Ebike scheme in the village……amongst many other things.
SENS wants to be a ‘host’ for local ideas offering a ‘ready-made’ support structure with a bank account and accounting structures, policies, procedures, a constitution and experience in writing grant applications. We want to engage more people in making decisions and taking action locally for the environment.
